Sandoz fills its sandbox to the brim with thousands of generic drugs in dozens of dosage forms. As the generics arm of Swiss drug firm Novartis AG, Sandoz develops products including antibiotics and hormone therapies, as well as treatments in areas including oncology, cardiology, neurology, and gastroenterology. Sandoz produces finished dosage forms of such off-patent drugs as Duragesic (fentanyl) for pain and Prilosec (omeprazole) for heartburn. It also supplies active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) to other drugmakers. Beyond oral medicines, Sandoz manufactures more complex generics in delivery systems including injectables and inhalers, as well as biologics. Sandoz sells its products in some 130 countries.
